St Jean-Cap-Ferrat
Located a few kilometers from Nice, Cannes, Monaco or Italy, the peninsula Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat gained worldwide notoriety by offering its visitors the charm of an exceptional and preserved site. The history:
The old port and the marina: the heart of the village. The old port, current Lindberg wharf was built by residents of Villefranche prison convicts between 1840 and 1876. In 1972 the new marina is inaugurated. It can now accommodate 560 boats including 40 private places. There are numerous restaurants, shops and galleries along the waterfront.
The Hospice Saint Chapel: This chapel was built in the seventeenth century on the ruins of a sanctuary. Next door is a Virgin bronze top of 11m40.
The Belgian military cemetery: located below the chapel, it owes its name to the victims of World War I died at Cedars Villa transformed into a military hospital and then property of King Albert I of Belgium.
The Church of St. John the Baptist: it dates from the eleventh century and was extended twice during the nineteenth century. The rectory was built in 1846.
The lighthouse and the semaphore: Built in 1732, the lighthouse is classified as a historic monument since 2012. It was designed to replace the old fire tower of the sixteenth century. Destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt in its present form after the war. The lighthouse is currently closed to the public. The semaphore was built in 1862 by decision of Napoleon III. Belonging to the Navy, its current missions include the regulation of maritime traffic but monitoring of fire starts on the coast. It peaks at 143 m altitude.
Cultural Heritage :
The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild: a jewel of the French Riviera. The palace built during the Belle Epoque by Beatrice de Rothschild houses its rich collection of art objects. A dream villa surrounded by nine wonderful themed gardens. Open daily all year.
Villa Santo Sospir (villa tattooed): the artist Jean Cocteau, friend of Francine Weisweiller will be a regular guest of the villa and left his imprint by painting every room in the house. He will say: "A young woman lives Santo Sospir he should not inhabit the walls, it had to draw on their skin.". Tel. : +33 (0) 4 93 76 00 16.
The Shell Museum: 6000 shells to discover, including more than 400 world records! The largest collection of Mediterranean seen to date, and an exceptional exotic collection.
The Coexist fountains: two respectively situated fountains at the foot of the lighthouse and the beginning of the walk of St. Hospice was opened in September 2007 with the President of the Coexist Foundation, James Kidner, Cherie Blair and Bono's U2. The Foundation logo formed the Muslim crescent, the Star of David that Jews and Christians of the Cross, works to promote exchanges between religions.
The walking trails: 3 possible routes is 12 km of trails around the peninsula:
- Around the course: 7 km (1h30 to 2h)
- The tour of the Pointe de Saint-Hospice: 3 km (40 min duration - 1h with a visit to the chapel)
- The promenade Maurice Rouvier: 2.3 km (duration 30 min)

Paloma Beach
Nestling deep within a haven of greenery, Paloma beach is a real gem! East-facing, it offers uninterrupted views of the cliffs at Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Eze. Very popular due to its unique setting, it is also the start or finish of the Pointe Saint-Hospice trail.
Part of this beach is private: Paloma Beach.
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat's iconic beach was built in 1948 by the architect André Deperi, and was originally frequented by the inhabitants of Nice and a few Americans who enjoyed this little corner of paradise. It has been visited by many famous people such as Matisse, Cocteau, Churchill, Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Elton John and Tom Cruise.
Serving Mediterranean cuisine, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Easter to late September. This establishment can be fully privatized, and offers showers, changing rooms, bath towels, deckchairs, beach umbrellas, a bar and a restaurant. It offers activities such as jet skiing, water skiing, paddle boats, kayaking, ski tubing, stand-up paddling...

This beach is located to the west of the peninsula, enjoying a sunny position. It has an uninterrupted view across Villefranche-sur-Mer harbour. Part of this beach is private: Passable beach
Previously known as Lutétia beach, it was first designed to accommodate guests staying at the Grand-Hôtel which was built on the headland of Cap Ferrat in 1908. Chef Raffaele Vanacore offers gourmet cuisine with a southern feel and Italian inspiration. The establishment can be booked out for fully private events. It is open from Easter to late September, and offers outdoor and indoor showers, changing rooms, bath towels, deckchairs, beach umbrellas, a bar, a restaurant, a shop and massages.
